Progress

action2africa041

Humphrey recently concluded a meeting with Action Two Africa representatives in Kiambiu. In attendance were caregivers, parents, and children. The caregivers continued to express their gratitude for the support they have received from A2A. The parents also encouraged their children to maintain discipline and stay focused in school.

One of the children in our Child Sponsorship Program got up and admitted that he had been hanging out in some unsavory circles and had picked up that bad habit of chewing bhang, an edible version of cannabis. He cried out for help, telling the group that he wanted to stop and begin moving back toward improving his life. He asked for help and encouragement.

Marlyne, a recent graduate of the program, then took the initiative to get up and encourage the other kids to continue working hard in school so that they can improve their futures. Her words were incredibly inspiring and hit home for everyone at the meeting. It has been so amazing to see this young lady grow and mature over these last few years. Her shift in roles from student to role model and mentor is exactly what A2A is hoping to continue to foster in Kiambiu and the surrounding communities.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support and encourage these transformations!
